Lineup and Details for DJ Pierre & A Guy Called Gerald back 2 back
Acid House Legend DJ Pierre returns to Manchester on Saturday 20th May to play one of his signature sets back2back with UK dance music pioneer A Guy Called Gerald to raise funds for the Tiny Steps charity in aid of a young local girl called Connie, who has a rare form of epilepsy
The third event last year was another huge success and continues to build on the solid foundations of previous events as one of the best annual shindigs the city has to offer
DJ Pierre needs hardly any introduction, he was unique in creating the acid house sound back in Chicago in 1987 before going on to join Strictly Rhythm Records and furthering his reputation with some stunning production credits and DJ sets, most recently with his appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong Essential Mix at the start of 2017.
A Guy Called Gerald shot to fame in 1988 after his track “Voodoo Ray” was featured as acassette demo on Stu Allan’s House Hour Show on Piccadilly Radio in Manchester then became a bona fide anthem in Manchester’s Hacienda club and all over the UK on its full vinyl release, eventually reaching a UK chart position of number 12.This year we are looking forward to something extra special from Pierre and Gerald as they will be incorporating live acid elements in a back2back joint set. This is sure to be a show-stopping experience!
After two stunning previous appearances, we are delighted to see former Hacienda DJ and Technics DMC World mixing champion Chad Jackson return, playing an eclectic mix of Acid and Hacienda classics stamped with his unmistakeable scratches and effects, with last year’s set leaving the crowd hungry for more. We are happy to satisfy that demand by welcoming back our man in the flat cap
And continuing the Manchester connection, get ready for something unique from ex Thunderdome resident Jay Wearden and Together’s Suddi Raval as they team up to provide a live DJ and acid set which is sure to blow people’s minds and sure to be something special... expect the unexpected!
There will be a pre-show warm up session in the Gorilla bar area from 8pm provided by Connie’s residents Adam Wilson, Steven Dobson & Paul McGuinness.
Pre-Party in Gorilla bar from 8-11pm / Club 11-4am
